Hey there! I'm Emilie Smith, I'm a creative problem solver and festival lover from Plano, Texas. I recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Communication Design and an Art History Minor. To me, creative problem solving is finding an out-of-the-box way to solve a problem. I try to get there by immersing myself in the problem at hand and thinking from that state of mind. An example of that is from my jazz poster (see poster design). I listened to the artist Phillip Dizack as part of my research and during my design process to try and visually represent how I thought his music sounded. 

 

When I’m not creating you can find me at a festival or walking at a nature preserve. My favorite festival I’ve been to took place in Michigan which resulted in a 16-hour car ride of bonding and a lot

of singing. I try and bring the dedication I have for fun to

each of my projects.
